Formidable disappeared from my site when I did upgrade

Hi, I had downloaded formidable and then, if I remember correctly, when I was upgrading it, it disappeared totally from my WP site.   Instead of the forms that were there, the pages that had forms say [form=12] or whatever that little code is. I just kinda let it go until now again when I want those forms back!  I have Formidable for 2 separate sites, under 2 separate accounts.

I cannot find Formidable anywhere. It disappeared from my sidebar and it is not in my widgets. But then when I try downloading it, I get this message:

Downloading install package from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/formidable.1.06.05.zip…

Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

Destination folder already exists. D:/sites/FixedMainWordpress/wp-content/plugins/formidable/

Plugin install failed.

Return to Plugin Installer

Any suggestions what I might try?

Thank you.

Susan

Can you take a look at the Plugins page from your admin section and verify that Formidable is there and activated? If it is active and you still can't see the formidable menu in the sidebar, then we may need temporary admin access to your site to see what's going on.

Let me know if that plugin is active.

No, I don't see it anywhere. The only place where there is any hint of it is on a few pages. For example, if you go into the site, you'll see on the By The Numbers Setup page that it says Formidable ID=4.

Now I have to try find my password so I can log in to continue this conversation. Then you can make the posts private and I'll give you the login.

I don't know which email I used for this site, and I can't find my login info. Are you able to see who I am through my site?

I am a bit confused. I have been working with you this week on two other issues on travek.com: http://formidablepro.com/help-desk/where-are-the-templates-i-created/
http://formidablepro.com/help-desk/formidable-pro-started-messing-up-my-default-template/

I just checked that website and your formidable form is active and working. You were logged into this site for those issues. There is an active single license account under the email address that you used to file this ticket, so using the "forgot password" option here should provide you with your password: https://formidablepro.com/payment/member.php

Support is limited to logged in users and to one site for single-site license holders. Please log in for further support on this issue

Hi Steve, good morning. That makes two of us confused. Ok, here's the deal. I had formidable on another website: http://www.bythenumberssoftware.com. In fact, when I was putting up that site I found Formidable and used it there. I also have another company, so I bought Formidable for that company, as well. That is TraVek, and Formidable works just fine there. That's the site you and I talked about earlier this week. TraVek are two completely separate companies; however, I log in to the sites through the same computer.

When I upgraded Formidable on bythenumberssoftware.com site, it completely disappeared and the only evidence, as I mentioned before, is on some of the pages where I had forms inserted. Then when I try to download it again, it always says the file exists in the D drive. I don't even know where D drive is!

Anyhow, another thought came to my mind, and that is when I first bought the template for the bythenumbers site, another person had downloaded the template for a fee. I'm wondering if he put his formidable on there initially?? And then when I tried to upgrade it, it just totally disappeared? I really don't know what happened. I'm confused. And I am finding no way of downloading it again and starting from scratch because the download is always blocked.

Does this make any sense?

Okay, so if I am understanding you correctly, you have two single-site licenses. One for bythenumberssoftware.com and one for TraVek.com.

I did some searching in our user database and found an account that was created in February of this year under the email address susan@travek, but that payment never completed. Then there is another account under susan@pioneerbtn.com with a payment that did go through.

So I am only finding 1 active account for your IP address. Is it possible that you were only using the free version of the plugin on your other website? The free version can be found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/formidable/

Do you have any other information that might help me find your other account?

Yes, that could be correct. I went from free version and tried to upgrade it to a paid version, if I remember right. When I tried the upgrade, it disappeared! I have nothing. I have been trying and trying to get back to Formidable for that website, and I cannot. I can't go anywhere to get it free, I can't go anywhere to even pay for it. Will you look at in the website admin and see if there's a way to get it back?

I don't know once we get it all set up if I can switch email addresses because the susan@travek is what I usually use for that company, and the pioneerbtn is what I use for my software company.

If you can login and look at the site, it might help. http://www.bythenumberssoftware.com/btnweb/website66

When you log in to the website, you'll see the first page there, By The Numbers Setup, has an old formidable form attached to it, but of course the forms are nowhere to be found because the plugin isn't on the site any longer.

I didn't mean for that all to come in as one URL. It's http://www.bythenumberssoftware. The username is btnweb and the pass is website66

It sounds like there may be some permissions issues with your setup...You may need to use FTP access to locate your plugins folder and manually delete the old files, so you can then install the plugin normally. Or manually install the plugin on the site following these instructions: http://formidablepro.com/knowledgebase/manually-install-formidable-pro/

Once you get the plugin installed on this site, please purchase a license for this site or upgrade your current license to an unlimited license.

Ok, thank you. I will do that. I have other sites as well, so maybe the unlimited is the way to go.

Yep, if you are managing multiple sites. the unlimited version is definitely the way to go. You can upgrade for $60.

Oh brother, this FTP stuff...I have no idea how to do that. I did purchase the upgrade. Now I have to figure out how to remove the old. Is there any chance I will delete what I have on TraVek's site at the same time?

Your two sites should each have separate directories with separate plugins folders. Deleting any remaining formidable files from bythenumbers site wont affect Travek at all.

The same has happened to me too. If I activate the Custom Post Type UI plugin, it makes the Formidable link on the left disappear in the Admin area. Any help?

Do you also have Thesis activated?

Is that a plugin? No, not that plugin. Other plugins, but the Custom Post Type UI seemed to allow Formidable after deactivation.

What was the menu item that showed right after your custom post types?

Oh you're good! :) If I disable the VideoJS Pro plugin, then Formidable works just fine. I wonder what is causing this issue, with that plugin?

Some plugins and themes like to force a position in the menu which removes others. You can contact that plugin author for a fix. It doesn't even involve Formidable. If you add more custom post types those will stop showing instead.
