Constant sum questions

Hello, I’m interested in purchasing a license of FormidablePro for my WordPress site.  The integration possibilities seem to fit our needs.
The form I have to create requires only one question but i has to be a “constant sum rating”-question. (e.g. 15 items with text fields – 100 points to share between items ). Can it be done with the included functions? Or would it have to be coded by a third party programmer?

Regards, Thomas

I'm sorry, I'm not really sure what you're asking. Maybe you could provide more detail so we can answer your question?

No prob,

a "constant sum scaling" is a type of question in online-survey forms: you have several numeric text fields and you can enter numeric values to rate your items. But the total sum of points is always 100.

The results then shows a comparative graphic (columns) of the respective total amounts allocated to each of the 15 items by all survey-users.

Hier a short article about this:

If not included in the questions, can it be be customized on the basis of existing questions? I have a programmer but I need to know if this is achievable at all before I invest money in a licence and coding hours.

Cheers!

So, in the example you linked to, there would be a field for each of the 4 categories (performance, safety, ...), correct? Out of the box, you could add a "total" field, and calculate the total of that field. You'd need a little custom code to check to make sure that field equals 100 before allowing submitting. Here are a few examples.

If you'd like to provide a link to an actual form that does this I could answer your question more clearly.
