Formidable is rapidly approaching the point where it is going to be entered into the Oxford English Dictionary alongside the definition of essential. My colleagues that work with me affectionately call it ‘for-mi-daah-bluh’ as you would say it with a French accent because they like it so much. Such is the impact formidable is having on life itself.
I’ve got to the point where, rather than sending issues out to other developers to solve I’m starting to take responsibility for solutions myself, finding a way within formidable, rather than farming it out to someone who most likely will create a far more complicated way of doing it.
That’s because every time I try to do something, no matter how grand, there is a way, somehow, to achieve it through formidable, or with formidable at it’s heart.
But this time, I feel I may have gone too far.
To finally get to the point, I’m looking for a way to automatically populate a formidable form from an external machine source. I am working with a client who has an external form that they have to use, but I want to get the data into a formidable database. So, my thought was that I could get their form / site to populate a matching form in my formidable site and the data would be in both places. C’est Formidable!
I appreciate that this seems like more of a database challenge than anything else, but I know as much about databases as Paris Hilton knows about running hotels.
If a person can input the data into a form, why can’t a machine? Since it’s unlikely that the 3 laws of Robotics are going to be an issue here, is this possible?
As per normal, any suggestions you have will be much appreciated,
